The Wolves and Lambs have been enemies since the beginning of their beginnings. This simple math problem helps us calculate the magnitude of this enmity. Just kidding, this has nothing to do with the wolves or the lambs. All you need to do is perform some calculation and you’ll get the answer for this simple problem. Let us just imagine there were six wolves, and they caught six lambs in six minutes, don’t freak out about all the sixes. It’s just math, this will still work out with other numbers as well in the same pattern. How many wolves will be needed to catch sixty lambs in sixty minutes? There’s nothing tricky about this question although people tend to think up an instant answer and end up saying that the answer is ten, but that’s not the answer.
6 wolves catch 6 lambs in 6 minutes. So, multiply by 10 to get 60 each.
Answer is 60.
There’s another way to look at this problem, to note that each wolf catches 1 lamb in six minutes. In 60 minutes, therefore, each wolf will catch 10 lambs (ten times as many). With 6 wolves, six times as many lambs will be caught.
